The Atlantic coast that stretches East from Cape St. Vincent, Europe’s most South Westerly point, is home to many species of cetaceans - dolphins and whales.

Friendly and inquisitive common dolphins, in pods ranging in size from two or three animals up to hundreds, are the most often encountered.

Far larger are the regal bottlenose dolphins popularized by Flipper .... happily, the ones we see are all free.

Risso’s dolphins are not an uncommon sight, their large pale bodies catching and reflecting the sunlight. Once or twice a year we may see Orcas, Minke or Sperm whales, just three of the many wonderful surprises the ocean has in store for us.  Find out more about other species.
