What we can see.

People ask about guarantees, but the ocean provides none: this is nature, not ZooMarine! Nevertheless, it’s rare that a trip goes by without seeing some form of wildlife, and more often than not it’s a pod of common dolphins.

A Risso reflecting the sun with is pale skin.		Risso’s dolphins are not an uncommon sight.		Once in a wile we come across a Turtle.		Turtles can be seen swimming on the surface.
Orcas or Killer Whales are rare in Algarve waters but once in a wile we spot them.		Once or twice a year Killer Whales cruise the coast, dressed to kill in startling suits of black and white.		A young Minke cruises clear waters.		Further out to sea, Minke Whales blow fish-scented air from huge lungs.
Basking Shark, endangered but still to be found in Algarve waters.		Basking Shark are an endangered specie. Luckily we still spot these harmless vegetarians once in a while.		The strange Moonfish are regularly encountered off the Algarve coast.		The bizarre shape of the giant Moonfish with its floppy dorsal can be seen quite often.
During Winter, Sperm Whales are giant visitors to Algarve waters.		Sperm whales are common winter visitors even if tourists aren’t! Cape St Vincent is a waypoint on their long migrations. Once endangered, their population has now thankfully stabilized.
Sea Birds can often indicate the presence of feeding dolphins and other species.		Seabirds give an acrobatic display whenever fish are shoaling. But they are also an important marker for dolphins and other species, eating fish stunned or injured by predators.
